I started reading for class (skimming through Strong's as I read) and I had to stop on the 4th word.
God -> Elohiym -> plural in Hebrew. This caught me off guard. I said something to Kerry about it and she's like '"Well, it makes sense. God was the Word and the Word was with God..."
And that does make sense, but it just caught me weird that Elohiym is actually a plural word.
Do you have anything more to offer?
Genesis 1: 26-27 uses #430, meaning Elohiym in the plural; in fact throughout the entire Hebrew Scriptures the word 'God' is #430, meaning 'Elohiym' - a majistrate of gods or royal authorities with power, strength, intelligence and mental capabilities far superior to man. Occasionally #410 is used meaning a powerful and strong god or deity.
"And (the) Elohiym said: Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.... so (the) Elohiym created Adam in their image, in the image of Elohiym created they him."
